Hey-- Great to see so many new members. This is a critical time for our Network as we are actively engaged in discussions with potential partners to help us with critical resources and infrastructure. I would like to take this time for those of you are new to introduce you to the VIP Network Steering Commitee: Along with myself from Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, La, we have:
1. Shawn Ralston, MD from UT, San Antonio 2. Mark Shen, MD from Dell Children's Hospital, Austin 3. Matt Garber, MD from University of South Carolina 4. Brian Pate, MD, Children's Mercy Hospital and Clinics, Kansas City
While we await the critical resources needed to take the next step, We would like to ask members to submit ideas of QI projects under one of the 3 categories: Patient Safety, Clinical Conditions, Health Care Systems. After the Brainstorming session, we will use a Matrix/Prioritization sytem to help prioritize our projects.
If you are interested in being a QI Co-Chair (i.e. serve as a leader/mentor of a particular project ), please submit your CV and a brief statement (paragraph) indicating your previous experience in QI work , leadership roles, and what particular areas interest you. Please submit to ([email protected]).
Even though the process of securing ALL the required resources (IT support/database; QI specialist access; Management support, etc) may take several more months, the Network in the meantime will plan to commision 1 to 2 projects during this transition period . (once we secure minimal funding to at least allow monthly teleconferences, etc.) | |
